After the Open: What’s Next
by Coach Josh

The CrossFit Open is always a solid checkpoint.
Whether you did the Open or not, it’s always a turning point in the year. It’s a great opportunity to take an honest look at where you’re at. The workouts can teach you a lot, but even if you didn’t do them, you can still evaluate where you are at in your fitness/health journey and where you want to go.
Wherever you’re at right now, this is just a starting point for what’s next. If you want to make real progress this year, it comes back to a few simple things.
First is consistency. Just keep showing up. Get to class, put in the work, and be coachable. Listen, ask questions, and actually use your coaches. You don’t have to figure everything out on your own. Trust the process and let us help guide you. The people who make the biggest jumps aren’t doing anything crazy. They’re just consistent over a long period of time.
Second, set a goal. Be honest about where you need to improve and go after it. You already know I’m going to say strict pull ups, but it could be anything. A lift you want to hit. A movement you want to clean up. A standard you want to reach. Pick something that matters to you and commit to it. Then talk to a coach and build a plan you can actually follow. Goals are good, but a plan is what gets results.
Third, take a look at your habits. What you do outside the gym matters more than most people think. Sleep, nutrition, recovery. If those aren’t in a good place, progress is going to be slower than it needs to be. You don’t need to be perfect, but you do need to be intentional. Small improvements here will make a big difference over time.
At the end of the day, this isn’t just about scores or workouts.
We’re building something bigger than that. We want you strong, healthy, and capable for the long run. We want you to move well, feel good, and be able to keep doing this for years.
That’s the goal.
Show up, stay consistent, set a goal, and clean up your habits.
Let’s keep chasing better.
